GEO (Generative Engine Optimisation)

Optimising your content so it's picked up and cited by generative AI answer engines, not just ranked by traditional search.

GEO is the practice of making your content easy for generative AI systems - ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Google's AI Overviews - to find, understand, and reference. Where classic SEO aims for a high ranking in a list of links, GEO aims to be the source an AI summary draws on.

In practice, much of GEO is good SEO plus a few AI-specific extras: clear structure and direct answers, strong trust signals, unblocked AI crawlers, and machine-readable business information. It's an addition to your SEO work, not a replacement for it.
