Structure
Canonical tag
A canonical tag tells Google which URL is the definitive version of a page when the same or very similar content is reachable at more than one address. Every page should have one, and it should point at itself unless there is a genuine duplicate elsewhere.
Read the guiderobots.txt
robots.txt is a plain-text file at the root of your domain that tells search engine and AI crawlers which parts of the site they may visit. It should exist, return a 200 response, and parse without errors. A missing or broken one is usually more of a hygiene gap than a ranking cliff, but a misconfigured one can accidentally block your whole site.
Read the guideXML sitemap
An XML sitemap is a list of your site's URLs that helps search engines discover pages, especially on a large or poorly-linked site. It should exist at a predictable URL, return a 200 response, and be referenced from robots.txt.

Meta description
A meta description is the short summary Google can show under your title in search results. It has no direct ranking effect, but a clear one improves click-through rate. Write one per page, 110 to 160 characters, that reads like a reason to click.
Read the guideTitle tag
A title tag is the clickable headline Google shows in search results. Give every page a unique one, under about 60 characters, that describes what the page is about and includes your main keyword near the front.
Read the guideMobile viewport
The viewport meta tag tells a phone's browser to render your page at the phone's actual width instead of shrinking down a desktop layout. Without it, mobile visitors get a page that is zoomed out and hard to use.

SPF record
SPF is a DNS record that lists which mail servers are allowed to send email on behalf of your domain. Publish exactly one SPF record naming your real mail providers, and nothing else. Two SPF records, or none, both weaken your email's deliverability.
Read the guideDMARC record
DMARC is a DNS record that tells receiving mail servers what to do with email that fails SPF or DKIM checks, and where to send reports about it. Start in monitor mode (`p=none`) for a couple of weeks to see what mail is sending as your domain, then move to an enforcing policy.
